Frederick Douglass Documentary- Attack in Pendleton- Mr. Reynolds
6th grade humanities have been studying informational writing and historical research in their humanities class. They took these skills and are currently working on producing their own documentary film about an attack on Frederick Douglass in 1843 in Pendleton Indiana. Student have had to write a script, interview experts in the field, and video and interview historians about the attack. The final video will be released in the winter of 2026!
Kindness Cards- Community Support- Mrs. Haynor
5th grade PSE mathematics students wanted to help families in need over the holiday season. Students created their own greeting cards and sold them to the community. They took the profits from those sales and purchased gifts for families in need. During the project the students had to set budgets, use persuasive writing techniques, and pitch ideas.
10th Grade Geometry and Physics- Construction Project- Mr. Kortik
10th Grade students are currently working on planning and building a 30ft by 40ft outdoor shelter. The students will take the principles they are learning in class and apply them to a real world project. Learning how to use tools, work with wood and equipment, and see geometry in action are some of the goals of this project.
PSA Winterfest 4v4 Soccer Tournament- Mr. Robinson
8th Grade humanities students in Mr. Robinson class were tasked with PSA’s largest fundraiser- the Winterfest 4v4 tournament. The students had to design a soccer tournament from the ground up- budgets, rules, creating a tournament schedule, purchasing merch, ect. Overall we had 300 plus players at our tournament and it was a huge success.
